Luke Days Static Displays

I photographed the static displays at 2018 Luke Days on Sunday,March 18. There were Lockheed-Martin F-35A Lightning IIs from the Italian Air Force, Royal Norwegian Air Force, and Japanese Air Self Defense Force. There were General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons from the Taiwanese Air force and the Singapore Air Force. Large airplanes included a Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker, Boeing P-8 Poseidon, Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, and Lockheed C-5M Galaxy. Warbirds included two North American P-51 Mustangs, a North American B-25 Mitchell, and a Douglas C-47 Skytrain. There were eight replicas of Japanese airplanes of the types that ttacked Pearl Harbor. The day was sunny and cool.

McDonnell-Douglas F-15E-48-MC Strike Eagle 89-0506 of the 389th Fighter Squadron based at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.
Aerovodochody L39C Albatross N39KR was built in 1985. Its constructin number is 533219.
Fairchild M-62A-3 N9165H Amazing Grace was built in 1943. Its constructin number is T43-4459.
Vans RV-8A N563WW Papalos Passion was built in 2013. Its constructin number is 82390.

Stearman PT-17 N59528 was built in 1941. Its constructin number is 75-1164.
Commemorative Air Force North American SNJ-5 Texan N3246G was ordered by the Army Air Force as AT-6D 42-86092, but it was delivered to the US Navy as SNJ-5 BuNo 90725. Its construction number is 88-17873. E. L. Honeywell of Fort Worth, Texas registered it as N3246G in 1963. Aero Nutz Incorporated of Monroe, Lo8uisiana bought it in 1966 and sold it to Raymond K. Elias of Portland, Texas in 1969. Confederate Air Force Arizona Wing of Mesa, Arizona acquired it on January 11, 1973. It was damaged when it ran off a runway during landing at Mesa on October 23, 2001.

General Motors TBM-3E Avenger N53503 was delivered to the Royal Canadian Navy as BuNo 535303. It was retired on January 1, 1958. It was operated by Simsbury Flying Service as N6583D of Simsbury, Connecticut from 1963 to 1970. Joe E. Jones and the Confederate Air Force of Harlingen, Texas acquired it in 1970 and transferred it to Robert L. Wick and the Confederate Air Force on January 13, 1972. It is now operated by the Rocky Mountain Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.

Commemorative Air Force Tora, Tora, Tora "Zero" NX15797 is a modified Canadian Car and Foundry Harvard Mk. IV.
Commemorative Air Force Tora, Tora, Tora "Zero" N11171 is a modified North American AT-6B Texan.

Commemorative Air Force Tora, Tora, Tora "Kate" N2047 was constructed from a Canadian Car and Foundry Harvard Mk. IV and a Vultee BT-13.
Commemorative Air Force Tora, Tora, Tora "Kate" N3725G was constructed from the front end of a North American SNJ-5 Texan and the back end of a Vultee BT-13.
Commemorative Air Force Tora, Tora, Tora "Val" N56478 is a modified Vultee BT-13.

Commemorative Air Force North American P-51C Mustang NL61429 By Request was delivered to the Army Air Force as 42-103645. Its construction number is 103-26199. It was acquired by the Confederate Air Frce in 1965. It was registered N215CA in 1985. Its restoration was completed and it was registered NL61429 in 2001. It was involved in a fatal crash on May 30, 2004. Its restoration was completed in May 2009. It made a gear-up landing at Dallas Executive Airport on February 3, 2015.

North American P-51D Mustang, N151MW Lady Alice was delivered to the Army Air Force as 45-11633. Its construction number is 124-48386. William G. Lacy and Lacy Steel Incorporated of Honolulu, Hawaii registered it as N5413V in 1963. It was damaged in a ground accident at Honolulu in 1972. Lady Alice Corporation of Wilmington, Delaware registered it as N151MW on August 26, 1999. It has been registered to Wagner P-51 Corporation since September 12, 2006.

Arizona Air National Guard Lockheed-Martin F-16C Block 42B Fighting Falcon 88-0419 of the 152nd Fighter Squadron Arizona Air National Guard Lockheed-Martin F-16C Block 42B Fighting Falcon 88-0419 of the 152nd Fighter Squadron Commemorative Air Force Douglas C-47A Skytrain N147AZ was delivered to the Army Air Force as 42-23518 on April 19, 1943. Its construction number is 9380. It served with the US Army in North Africa in World War II. It entered the civil register as Amnerican Air Express NC53426 on June 10, 1947 and has had many operators over the years. ADA Industrial Building Corporation redistered it as N53ST on May 4, 1980. The American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum accquired it on May 28, 1915 and registered it as N147AZ on February 5, 2016.
